The day i got my navel pierced is the day i felt guilty for lying to my parents about where i was going, but felt sexy half an hour later :D
I had always wanted a belly ring but was forbidden to get it done by my parents. So I came up with the idea that it was currently Winter and my parents wouldnt see it because it will always be covered.
The next day, I went to a piercer but had told my parents i was going shopping with a friend. While i was shopping, I got my belly pierced and was sooo excited! Then i remembered oh no! im going overseas in the next month and it will be Summer! So my solution was to buy a monokini. But then I thought, oh man im gonna have such a retarded tan line. So I searched up the net for clear belly rings and of course found a clear retainer on TUMMYTOYS! This retainer is awesome! No-one spotted it at the beach with my two piece bikini on!
Thank god for tummy toys! Its been a year and a half since I got my navel pierced and for once, my parents are none the wiser!
i had been wanting my belly button pierced for as long as i can remember. id done research and the whole nine yards. and the closest piercing shop (which was and hour away ) didnt allow people under the age od 14 to get their navel pierced. and of course if u were 14 then u had to have ur parents permission. well my birthday is in january so on my 14th bday i asked my mom and she said that if i wanted it done then i could get it, but she warned me that it takes a lot of patience and caring for if i want to keep it. i agreed to it. well that day we went out to dinner with a couple of my moms friends and one of them (well call her sara) had heard about me wanting to get my navel pierced. she had hers done before and she was telling me that it hurt more afterwards than when u actually get it done. she said she barely felt the needle go through. i was feeling a little better after hearing that. id rather have it hurt after than when im getting it done (i have a small needle-phobia). so we get to the piercers shop and i was hoping a girl couldve done it (but of course there were only guys!!!) but ooh well. we filled out the paper work and yada yada blah blah all the pre-piercing bull crap. finally we went into the room and ALL the people in the shop came in to watch! so embarassing. and to make things worse, my mom was recording me!!! the guy told me that the clamps hurt more than anything. and to me the clamps didnt hurt at all. but when he pulled out the lil thing with the needle, i started freaking out. he tried pushing it through, but it wouldnt go in. he just kept trying to shove it through my stomach!! and the whole time im sittin there thinkiing WTF HAVE I GOT MYSELF INTO?!?!?! then he says i think this is the hardest belly button ive ever had to pierce he finally got it through and then he looks at me and says now comes the hard part. putting the ring in didnt feel that great either, but it wasnt near as bad as when the needle wen through. on a scale of 1-10 my pain was a 20. and man was i soooooo excited to have the pain afterwards (not really) but to my surprise i dint feel a thing afterwards. and i still dont unless i bump it on something or if someone tickles me and hits it. i LOVE it and i think the pain was soooooo worth it.
i have all ways wanted my belly pierced an a few weeks ago i got the courage to ask my mum if i could and she was absulutly fine with it , ( i thought she would hate then ) so last week after school uit was raining soo much but my and my friend and my mum went to the piercing place mum had to sign a consent form because im 15 and a lady look me into a room dotted 2 marks on my belly and told me to look at it in the mirror and then i lay down she put the clamp on and then BAM needel through it barly hurt and now it looks soooo pretty and it isnt paniful to much now :)
2 our of 10 on the pain scale
im sooooooo happy
Since where I lived there were no places where I could have my navel pierced, I had to take a bus and go to the closest big city. I had a shower and while getting ready my sister was watching the TV and all of a sudden she yelled OMG! They knocked down the towers!. She was upset and coudln’t understand what she was talking about. It was September 11, 2001. I watched all those images confused but I had to rush to catch the bus. I went there with a friend. We were confused, everyone was confused.Once I got to the city I tried to get more news taking a coffee and asking the bar attender what was going on. No on ecould really understand what had happened. It was a strange feeling, I was puzzled and sad but at the same time I was happy I was getting my navel pierced, which I had been wanting for ages. It’s almost 10 years ago but it’s definitely something I will never forget.
In December of last year I was 17 when my mom and dad took me to get my top navel piercing as my christmas gift, didn’t hurt at all, but healing took forever and now its fine. About 1 month ago I pierced my lower navvel ( Inverse navel ) and its healing sooo much faster than the top did. It also hurt alot less, too, but thats just my opinion. So now I have my tongue, top and lower navel, nipples and ears 8x each all self dont except the top navel. I DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO PIERCE THEMSELFS! And always take care of your piercings, don’t play with them.

I got my belly pierced about 3 months ago. I had wanted it done for about a week but my parents wouldn’t let me. I had talked to a few girls at school who had theirs done and they had recommended piercing places and also told me what the procedure was.
Then one day after school, I went with my friend to a place which didn’t require parent permission and asked to get my belly pierced. They showed me many belly rings and I chose a blue one. It looked very pretty and made my skin look even more tanned. Then took me into a separate room and left my friend sitting all by herself. In the other room, a nice woman drew a small dot on my belly and asked me to check it in the mirror. I told her that it was fine and then she asked me to sit down on a chair. She then clasped the skin and got out the needle. She poked the needle halfway through my skin. It hurt, but it wasn’t so bad (Getting injections at school was more painfu)l. She then poked the needle through the last half and I watched at the needle pierced through my skin. After the needle went through, a tube of plastic (a bit like a small, thin straw) was left in the hole. The woman then pushed the jewelry through the tube and took the tube out. Then she screwed on the ball and let me see it in the mirror. I was very pleased and it only looked a little bit red. I then walked outside to my friend who was sitting in the waiting room. She was sitting there shaking. She has been even more scared than I was.
After a month of having my belly pierced, I told my parents. They were disappointed that I did it behind their backs, but they are forgiving people and have put it behind them now.
I love my belly ring SO much! But I would warn other people who are considering it, to be careful. Because they take a long time to heal and also they require a lot of cleaning and patience.

ha ha, I can relate to you Beka. I had my navel pierced about ten years ago at a tattoo and body piercing place in Penrith. I can’t even remember making the decision, it just happened naturally for me, I guess I was completely drawn to the idea. My mother was horrified but she couldn’t stop me, I was 18.
I wasn’t nervous until I was actually laying there looking at the needle but it was all fairly painless and before I knew it my navel was pierced. There was a small pool of blood and the piercer made some jokes about calling an ambulace, my best friend and I were just in hysterics. (although my friend STILL refuses to get hers done after watching mine!)...
I walked out of there feeling mighty proud that I had done it and wandered over to the nearby plaza when suddenly I had a dizzy spell come on and had to sit myself right down on the floor in the middle of the plaza! Kinda embarrassing, I looked like a drunk teen sitting there on the plaza floor having some sort of mini-blackout! A few minutes later the dizziness passed and my friends and I all went home.
When I got home my mother said at the site of my new piercing oh no, what have you done! ha ha... but to this day I still love my navel piercing!
I remember talking to my girlfriends about piercings, and I remember telling them how my family would hate it if I got any weird body piercings (my mother found the ears as the only non-weird place to pierce yourself). She then told me that I should be my own person, and do what I want, and that I wasn’t a little girl anymore. About a week later, at a party at one of my girlfriend’s house, one of my friends was showing off her knew belly ring. I must admit, I kind of wanted to be in her shoes when everyone around her were bragging about how cool and cute it looked. I decided that I wanted to get double that attention and the next day I called my best friend and told her that I desperately needed to go to Galaxy (the closest piercing place). She was more excited than I was (she has always been very supportive of my decisions). Once we got to Galaxy, they offered to help us with whatever we needed... My bestfriend opened her huge mouth and said she wanted to get her belly button pierced. I thought i was going to be the only cool one to get a piercing that day. But it was okay, because i decided to get my belly and my tongue pierced! After that I went home and I could barely even talk. My mother picked a perfect time to start long conversations with me (not). I was desperately trying not to talk, when she finally realized I was talking funny. She told me to open my mouth and to avoid a slap on the face I did as she told. She instantly told me to remove the piercing and to throw it away. She couldn’t stop yelling at me, and she was studying my body so carefully while she yelled at me. I guess it was the tight tank top I was wearing that day that helped her discover my other precious piercing. I went to bed more pissed off than I’ve ever been. It has only been a few months since then, but I finally made my mom realize that piercings aren’t as bad as she thinks. Just because you make holes in your body, doesn’t mean that it makes you a bad person. So now I have 15 Piercings including my lip, navel, and nose(don’t worry, most of my piercings are in my ears ).
I took my mum and my sister along the day I got my belly done. My sister came to laugh at me as she was convinced I'd cry, scream or faint. I sat down the the technician, picked out my bar, and laid down on the bench. The tech and I were having a mad chat about Christmas being 2 days away, when she infomed me I was pierced - I didnt believe her as I didnt feel a thing and whacked my stomach to make sure she was telling the truth. As I jumped off the bench to show my sister I nearly wet myself laughing - she had gone gray and clammy, on the verge of passing out herself just watching me get my tummy pierced! Haha thats karma for you!
“A super special thanks for sending me the pink belly bar! It arrived yesterday and it is absolutely stunning! I have no words! That colour of pink and gold is my absolute favourite colour of gold ever! I wish all solid rose gold could be that pink & gorgeous! It is hands down the most stunning belly ring that I have ever seen. However, since I purchased my 1st (but definitely not my last) Tummy Toy, I love them so so much I don't want to and wont ever, wear any other style of belly bar! They are my hands down favorite and hands down the best belly piercings around anywhere! Thank you for your very wise words regarding my daughters piercing, I sincerely appreciated it very much. I gave her the romance bar because she loves it so much & before that I had given her the cupid bar & neither bar has affected her in any way at all which is brilliant! It also says so much for your integrity as a seller as you absolutely only sell high quality belly bars & rings! Thank you Helene! I very much look forward to purchasing from you again really soon! Take care Helene, thank you so much for everything, it has been a true pleasure to have been able to message with you like this. With kindest thanks & best regards, Nadia“
“My TummyToy sterling silver sleeper belly ring was the purchase I ever made online. I was working at McDonalds and I was 15 and I thought your products were so cool and different I decided to make the (then) very extreme decision to actually purchase something from the internet! Haha! That was nearly 8 years ago now and I just took it out earlier today to give it a polish and realised how long it had been. I still love my belly ring dearly and have not taken it out other than for a clean. I just wanted to say that I still think your products are so cool and the quality is outstanding. Thank you for giving me my first and favourite internet purchase ever.“
“I had been having a lot of trouble with infections since I had my belly pierced eight months ago. I thought this may be due to the titanium in the cheaper style rings so purchased this silver one in the hope it would help. I'm pleased to report it has worked, so I will now be looking at getting the silver rings with gem stones.“
“I just recently found your website & I love it!!! I bought a sterling silver belly ring (I have an allergy to nickel & had a hard time finding these type of rings). I received my belly ring today & LOVE it!! It is so pretty & easy to put in!!! I just bought a charm to go with it & I can't wait for it to come in.“
“Just letting you know the present arrived yesterday for my partner’s birthday that I ordered earlier this week. She was extremely impressed and overwhelmed with the surprise. She cannot wait till we see each other in January to thank me for it. Again, thank you for the wonderful service and product that you provided.“
“I love my new products, the stainless steel sleeper belly ring and the saltwater silver Quartz sleeper charm look beautiful together, natural and classy! They are both extremely comfortable to wear and unlike belly bars they do not catch on clothing, especially high waisted items! I would recommend this product to anybody, in particular those whose piercings are prone to irritation or soreness.“
“Good morning Helene, The gift went very well and was quiet a surprise for my friends birthday. It finally arrived considering the issue we had with Australia Post, they weren't always too helpful, I have addressed that issue with them already, just awaiting for a reply from them. The service and support that you provided was extremely appreciated and professional, I thank you very much for that. I have liked the products and service from your company, which is obvious by me placing another order for my wonderful partner for her birthday which she will receive by the weekend, fingers cross. I have also been trying to do this while overseas with work, so the time difference is difficult. Thank you for everything and keep up the awesome work and customer service.“
“I got my navel pierced for my birthday last year and, as I am sure many of you know, these things heal relatively slowly, with fits and starts of irritation. I was using the original piercing jewelry (stainless steel barbell) but, of course, it would get caught on something every now and then and there would be another bout of irritation, Plus, stainless just isn't the same as gold or silver for me. I found Tummy Toys online and found the sleeper belly ring - silver and meant for comfort - and figured that I had to try it. Well, I order it and some other jewelry. I live in the U.S. and I was given a deliver by date of 10/9. The jewelry arrived about September 5th, which was great. But the silver sleeper belly ring is really the star. It is comfortable and doesn't get caught on clothing. The metal does not irritate my piercing. I am so happy! If you have trouble with irritating metal or jewelry that gets caught on clothing, Tummy Toys is a must buy!“
